431 CUHK scholars named among world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford University

 

A total of 431 CUHK academics are listed among the world’s top 2% scientists in the 2025 ‘Updated science-wide author databases of standardised citation indicators’ of Stanford University, with 47 ranking among the top 100 in their respective fields.*

Three of them have made it to the global top 10, including Prof. Dennis Lo, Vice-Chancellor and President, and Professor of Chemical Pathology; Prof. Mei-po Kwan, Choh-Ming Li Professor of Geography and Resource Management, and Prof. Jean Woo, Henry G Leong Research Professor of Gerontology and Geriatrics.

Created by a research team at Stanford University, the database lists the top 100,000 scientists or top 2% scientists in respective fields across the world based on indicators including their career-long citation impact and single-year citation impact.

 

*Career-long citation impact and single-year citation impact of 2024 are both included.
