Welcoming a world of culture: 600 new faces join CUHK

CUHK is thrilled to welcome 600 incoming exchange students to our multicultural community.

CUHK is delighted to welcome some 600 incoming exchange students this term, representing 54 nationalities from 35 countries and regions—marking the largest cohort in recent years. This diverse group brings a wealth of perspectives and cultural vibrancy to CUHK’s international community.

On 27 August, the students were warmly greeted by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dennis Lo, who encouraged them to explore Hong Kong’s cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and diverse communities, while making the most of their academic experience at CUHK. Prof. Lo emphasised the University’s commitment to fostering a global learning environment that promotes cross-cultural understanding and prepares students to make meaningful contributions to the world. The students also joined a welcome dinner hosted by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) Prof. Mai Har Sham on 1 September.
