Global academic leaders gather at CUHK to celebrate inauguration of new vice-chancellor

The installation ceremony is joined by distinguished presidents from renowned higher education institutions worldwide.

CUHK installed Prof. Dennis Lo Yuk-ming as its ninth Vice-Chancellor and President on 20 May. This momentous occasion was witnessed by distinguished presidents of our partner universities around the world. They included presidents from Griffith University in Australia, the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, the University of Alberta in Canada, the University of Ghana, Maastricht University in the Netherlands, the University of Auckland in New Zealand, the Universities of Cape Town and Pretoria in South Africa, Makerere University in Uganda, and the Universities of Bristol, Exeter, and Leeds in the UK.

Besides, the event was joined by the leaders of various international alliances, including the ASEAN University Network, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities and the Worldwide Universities Network as well as the heads of the Royal Society in the UK and the Croucher Foundation in Hong Kong.

CUHK will continue to deepen its international collaborations and expand its global engagement under Prof. Lo’s leadership.
